Aims and Scope

Intelligent automation is achieved by implementing humanlike intelligence, machine learning, and soft computing (computational intelligence) tools and techniques, deep learning neural networks, genetic algorithm, genetic programming, clustering, statistical tools like Bayesian network, etc., recognizing that automation and intelligence are the focused issues of decades. Applications such as big data analytic, cloud-based networking and cyber-security are all considered.

Intelligent Automation and Soft Computing: An International Journal seeks to provide a common forum for the dissemination of accurate results about the world of intelligent automation, control, manufacturing, modeling and systems engineering. It is intended that the articles published in the journal will encompass both the short and the long term effects of soft computing and other related fields such as robotics, control, computer, vision, speech recognition, pattern recognition, data mining, "big data", data analytics, machine intelligence and machine translation. It further hopes it will address the existing and emerging relationships between automation, systems engineering, system of systems engineering and soft computing. The journal will publish original and survey papers on intelligent automation and systems engineering with an emphasis on current and potential applications of soft computing. It will have a broad interest in all engineering disciplines, computer science, and related technological fields such as medicine, biology operations research, technology management, and agriculture and information technology.

Topics considered include but not limited to:

Intelligent Automation: Robotics, industrial inspection, design automation and rapid prototyping, scheduling, process control and automation, autonomous systems, computer integrated manufacturing, multi-agent systems, intelligent system of systems, MEMS, nanotechnology, stochastic learning automation, autonomous control, cyber-physical (system of systems) systems, applications in space- and earth-bound systems.

Soft Computing and Machine Learning: Deep Learning, Deep Neural networks and deep learning, neuro-computing, fuzzy logic, genetic algorithms, genetic programming, AI and expert systems, probabilistic reasoning, machine learning, learning control, fuzzy logic control, distributed intelligence, image processing and self-organizing systems, data mining, "big data" management, clustering, Regression analysis, Bayesian Networks, Data Mining, Natural Language Processing, etc.

Paper Charge Policy

For unsolicited papers, AutoSoft journal has a voluntary charge policy of US $650 for up to 10 published pages. Additional pages are at $100 per page. Those authors who choose to contribute to this policy will get a hard copy of the issue in which their papers has appeared an unlimited online subscription containing 25 years history of the journal. Special issue papers will continue to have a $830 charge for 12 published pages.

Types of Submissions: The journal will consider two types of papers: articles and short papers. Articles will be full-length papers (between 9-16 pages in length) reporting original contributions or significant results. Short papers (between 5-8 pages in length) present new ideas, preliminary and brief results. Papers emphasizing applications are especially welcome.

Language: All articles should be in good English in order to ensure quick processing of papers. Authors whose first language is not English are advised to seek advice from colleagues with a high level of written English. In cases where this is not possible authors are advised to use translational services.

Required Components: To facilitate communication, the address, phone number, fax number, and email address of the corresponding author should be given at the time of paper submission. Papers should be written in English and arranged in the following order:
1) title of the paper
2) name of all authors with affiliations and mailing address for each author. Authors are encouraged to include an ORCiD
3) an abstract (50-100 words) containing the purpose, scope, contribution of the paper
4) up to 10 keywords with the first keyword being the most pertinent one
5) introduction
6) main body of the paper divided into sections and subsections where appropriate
7) conclusion
8) references
9) appendices (if any).

Format: Submitted papers should be prepared electronically in Microsoft Word® format using a Roman typeface for your manuscript whenever possible (i.e., Times or Times Roman). All paragraphs in the manuscript should be double spaced and typed flush with the left. Do not indent paragraphs, but allow extra space between them. Italicize words to be printed in italics and bold words to be printed in bold.

Equations and Figures: Both equations and figures must be numbered sequentially using Arabic numerals. Captions for figures should be in sentence format with the format with the first word capitalized and a period at the end. Please provide a separate list (separate from the text) of all captions. Equations should be numbered sequentially with the number enclosed in parenthesis and placed at the right margin.

Referencing Style: The journal follows the Taylor & Francis standard APA referencing style. Please click here for full instructions

Submission Instructions: Only electronic submissions are allowed. Please submit them in PDF format on the website**. MS word is also an acceptable format. Figures should be embedded in the document. Submit figures individually in a file as well in either .JPG, .TIF, or .EPS format. Figures that have very thin lines sometimes do not print well so please be sure that lines on figures, graphs, and charts are 1 point. Each designated corresponding author will receive a proof to check the accuracy of the final typeset article from TSI Press Ms. Deb Rivard. Only corrections for typesetting errors are allowed. Extensive author alterations will incur an extra fee to the author. Correctly formatted articles with preset styles are available. Authors can access the template by going to: http://wacong.orgiautosoftlauto/forms.html). We will be happy to answer any other questions you may have at or Debra Rivard

** We are transitioning to this site as the new official Autosoft Journal website. Until that process is complete, papers should be uploaded to our previous website as an author.
